Friends of Watertown Music welcomes all musicians, from professional to beginner, jazz, folk, classical, or undefined!

We have performances on 3 “stages”, an instrument petting zoo, and pizza & snacks! Enjoy a festive evening with us!

A Grant and 9th Annual MusicFest!

Friends of Watertown Music is pleased to announce the receipt of a $2,500
Watertown Community Foundation School Program Grant 
to expand the percussion program to Watertown High School. Percussion students will continue to receive instruction at a high level on quality instruments!

Thankfulness and 9th MusicFest

In this season of Thanksgiving, Friends of Watertown Music is thankful for all our donors, volunteers, MusicFest musicians & audience members, the Watertown Community Foundation, and all who have helped support our vision to rebuild, expand, and celebrate music in the public schools of Watertown. The Music Department is the biggest it has been since before we were founded, and musical offerings have expanded to reach more students in more ways than ever! Much to celebrate!

Our line-up features…
University of Massachusetts-Boston music faculty Dr. Emilian Badea, the Watertonics, Middle & High School ensembles, Watertown Public Schools faculty and parents, and enthusiastic, young musicians as soloists, duos, trios, and more, playing
folk, classical, and jazz music from around the world!

Watertown’s own Ruth Rappaport and Pete Wetherbee
will close the evening for us!

Come early! Stay late! 
Tell your friends and neighbors!  It’s the best place to be in Watertown this Friday night!

5:30-9:30 pm:  Performances begin at 6pm; Instrument Petting Zoo 5:30-7pm.
Pizza and bake sale.

Venue: Watertown Middle School, 68 Waverley Avenue, Watertown.
Suggested donation: $8 per person/$25 per family.

Friends of Watertown Music is a 501(c)(3) organization; all donations are tax-deductible and used to support the Music Department of the Watertown Public Schools.

Your gift will help enrich, sustain, and develop the music programs in Watertown Public Schools.  Since our inception, Friends of Watertown Music, through your donor supporthas awarded over $39,000 in grants to support teaching positions,  several teacher-initiated projects, and instrument purchases, and brought in over $16,000 from outside foundations for instrument purchases.

The audience will not know what the show is until the curtain is up!  The actors will not know until they begin rehearsing tonight, 27.5 hours before the show!
